GXV Unimog
March 8, 2009
The GXV Unimog will be seeing its last days of superiority this year. The original model was founded in 1945, with modifications being made almost every year over the past 64 years. Well known for its ability to accept almost any kind of diesel as well as sulfur rich fuel usually offered in second to third world countries, this vehicle will run on just about anything(and yes, that includes bio diesel as well). Retailing for $380,000 2009 is the final year to get your hands on this luxurious vehicle, as Unimog has announced that they will no longer be releasing new models in the states. Poseidon 180 Yacht
March 7, 2009
The Poseidon 180 is a truly unique yacht. Its most striking feature is its enormous glass dome which houses several decks inside. The yacht contains eight private rooms which grant their residents a full ocean view. With its glass dome and curved balconies, the entire design has a very sleek and modern feel to it. At 180 feet and capable of reaching speeds of 40 knots, the yacht will cost about $50 million but is still just a design at this point in time. [via] See more rendered images.

LightLane
January 23, 2009
The other day I saw a woman get hit by a truck while she was riding her bike. She laid next to her bike, unable to move before she was rushed to the hospital. I hope she is okay, and that products like this will help prevent bike accidents. Unfortunately there is no word on price or availability. [via]
KTM Ascender Concept
January 19, 2009
I <3 flying bikes, so how could I not like this flying contraption built by a bike manufacturer?! Industrial design students at Austria’s FH Joanneum University were instructed to create designs that could logically fit into KTM’s brand 10 years from now, all while keeping with KTM‘s identity. The KTM Ascender concept, designed by Mariko IIjima, Richard Kastner-Puschl & Richard Mohos would be powered by a gas turbine and have a top speed of 120 km/h. More photos.
Toyota Tundra Ducati Transporter
January 15, 2009
I am not exactly sure how this has anything to do with electronics, but it was one of my favorite things to see at the consumer electronics show. The Toyota Tundra Ducati Transporter is the perfect bike hauler. It features a motorized loading ramp, an integrated tool system, storage for spare parts and a set of solar panels mounted on the bed rails to provide auxiliary power. Under the hood is a 5.7-liter supercharged V8, and the inside has Seat Solutions Relaxor Massage chairs. Very awesome! More pictures and the press release.
2009 Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Stirling Moss
December 29, 2008
Unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, the 2009 Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Stirling Moss is the last car to be built under the Benz and McLaren partnership. Only 75 of these beautiful cars will be built, I’m sure most of them are spoken for. The Stirling Moss costs €750,000 (over $1,000,000)! It is powered by a 650-hp supercharged 5.5-liter V8 and a 5-speed automatic transmission. The car does NOT feature a roof or windscreen, however it is capable of doing speeds up to 217 mph and can reach 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. It does sport; “swing-wing” doors, an air brake, and a 2-piece tonneau cover that can cover just the passenger seat or the entire cockpit. I wonder what this car would cost once it becomes a collector. Photo Gallery and Press Release.
