MotoPOD
February 13, 2010
MotoPOD ($8,000) allows you to carry a motorcycle and enjoy immediate ground transportation at EVERY airport. Enjoy a level of freedom and mobility that most pilots only dream about. It’s the freedom to visit new places, explore your destinations and see what you’ve been missing. The pod can hold a 255lb modified Yamaha XT-225 223cc motorcycle which has a top speed of 85mph. The bike is specially designed to fold up and be loaded onto the plane in under 5 minutes! Not having to pay for a rental car could save you $3,000 a year, which means the MotoPOD could easily pay for its self in just a few years! See more photos and a video.
BMW S1000RR
April 30, 2009
BMW finally delivered a bike that can compete in the World Superbike Championship. The S1000RR features; aluminum beam frame, high-spec USD fork and monoshock (both ends fully adjustable), Brembo brakes, carbonfiber bodywork and 1,000cc inline-four that makes about 200bhp at the crank. Best of all, BMW wants to price this bike competitively with Japanese bikes which means you can get one for under $20,000. Click for image gallery and video.
Toyota Tundra Ducati Transporter
January 15, 2009
I am not exactly sure how this has anything to do with electronics, but it was one of my favorite things to see at the consumer electronics show. The Toyota Tundra Ducati Transporter is the perfect bike hauler. It features a motorized loading ramp, an integrated tool system, storage for spare parts and a set of solar panels mounted on the bed rails to provide auxiliary power. Under the hood is a 5.7-liter supercharged V8, and the inside has Seat Solutions Relaxor Massage chairs. Very awesome! More pictures and the press release.
Rossi Face Replica AGV GP-Tech Helmet
December 18, 2008
I have been waiting all year for this replica helmet to be available. If you don’t recognize the face on the top, that is Valentino Rossi, MotoGP champion. The replica helmet from AVG is based off their GP-Tech model and uses the same safety features as Rossis original, including the Kevlar shell. These are limited edition so get them before Rossi changes his helmet. More photos!
BMW LO Rider Motorcycle Concept
December 12, 2008
This concept was introduced at the EICMA Show in Milan. The minimalist design features; boxer engine, twin wavy disc brakes, two projector-style headlamps, and single-sided swingarm. I think the LO Rider would be an awesome addition to BMW’s (lack of) cruiser line. Photo Gallery.
ICON Warthog ZX-10
December 8, 2008
Over thirty years ago the US Air Force developed the “Warthog” A-10, which has saved many lives by providing ground troops with massive firepower. Now its Icon’s turn to support the ground troops with their version of “Superior Firepower”. Based off a 2004 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, ICON’s Warthog features a (non-working) Gatling gun, DOMAIN 2 Warthog graphics, 800 watt MTX audio system, 8″ LCD screen, and rear view camera. Even the engine got Warthog treatment. This bike was dyno’d at 188 RWHP (take that busa fanboys)! See the music video and image gallery.
Fusion Motorcyles “The Machine”
November 12, 2008
Take a look at this beauty from Fusion Motorcycles. The boys over at Fusion have designed a custom bike using a Buell bike as the base. You can purchase a completed custom bike for about $29,000 or you can buy “The Machine” Buell conversion kit for around $4,500. The kit includes the seat, frame, oil tank, gas tank, rear shock, and swing arm. This is an awesome kit for motorcycle enthusiasts looking to combine a custom look with a classic Buell powerhouse motor. If you’re going to be in the NY area and want to see one of these for yourself you can check it out at the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in NYC December 18-20. [Source]
Dainese Tattoo Ykz. Prof. Racing Suit
November 6, 2008
Dainese is a world leader of protective clothing for motorcyclists and dynamic sports. Their professional racing suit is the worn by many MotoGP champions, and is arguably the best protection for when you are on a motorcycle. New for 2009 is the limited edition Tattoo Ykz design which features Samurai prints combined with Maori patterns. The artist behind this awesome suit is Luca Ionesco from Australia (check out his site for more suit designs that didn’t make it to production). The Tattoo Ykz is made from laser cut kangaroo skin and Lorica. Since this is limited edition, in order to get one you must register on the Dainese website and hope they accept your order. Brudeli 654L Leanster
September 29, 2008
The Brudeli 654L Leanster is a trike based off a KTM 690 Supermoto which has 2 wheels in the front simular to the Can-Am Spyder. Unlike the Spyder, the Brudeli 554L leans with you on turns! It features a single cylinder, 4-stroke engine displaced at 654.7 cc. Weighing in at 525 lbs, the Leanster can lean up to 45 degrees! “The vehicle is best described as something in between a motorcycle and ATV-quad. It leans into corners like a motorcycle but, at the same time, has a lot of the stability of a sport quad.” Price should be around $30,000 availability is unknown. See the image gallery.
Ferrari V4 Superbike Concept
September 25, 2008
This Ferrari superbike concept is designed around Enzo engine that has been modified down to 4 cylinders. It features fly-by-wire technology with hand controls which were adapted from an “F-16 fighter jet, and buttons based on those found on the steering wheel of Ferrari’s Formula 1 race cars.” My favorite part is the weatherproof touchscreen display which allows you to access the sound system and trip computer… Imagine the possibilities, not the cost.
