<p>Here is the the rebirth of an Icon, the 2009 300 SL Panamericana, based on a Reproduction from Hoope&#8217;r, Gullwing-AG in Germany, who produce the closest model you can get to the real thing. Arturo Alonso and his company, Gullwing-America , modified this already outstanding automobile into an exotic for the 21st century.</p>
<p>A combination of the Glorious Carrera Panamericana cars of the 50&#8242;s and new technology, they came out with this incredible sports car, Alonso himself raced the Carrera for years in a Mercedes 300SE, where the passion for this legendary Race and the Mercedes was born.</p>
<p>The 300SL body is constructed with the use of aircraft composite technology. This construction comprises of a sprayed layer of aluminum to a thickness of .5mm into the mold over which an epoxy adhesive is laid and several layers of 7oz woven glass cloth are then applied with epoxy resin.</p>
<p>Chassis is made from RHS steel reinforced and powder coated, has independent suspension with adjustable coil overs, four wheel disk brakes, a 5.5 liter Mercedes engine, (M-133-55) the one used on the AMG Mercedes models and the SLR, mated to a six speed transmission, special made radiator and exhaust system.</p>
<p>The Panamericana will have a re tuned electronics raising the HP about 370, 530nm of torque @5400RPM. The car will sit lower, have speedtronic transmission, side mufflers, no bumpers, a special grill, four spoke leather steering wheel with power assist, a start button, A/C , a four point harness, Becker Mexico Radio with CD and I pod adapter, and fitted leather luggage. It also includes specially made old school 17 X 8 AMG wheels all around with 235/45/17 Continental Sport contact tires, AMG calipers painted in red, HID headlights, and stripes on the fenders like the &#8220;Works&#8221; Cars from La Barrera.</p>
<p>For 2010 there will also be the option for the new V6 Mercedes engine (M-272-E35) used on the 350 Models, which has almost the same power of the V8 ( 320HP And 360nm torque @4900RPM)) and could be ordered with a manual six speed.</p>
<p>The cars will all be painted in silver with blue accents in the front fenders like the race cars of the Panamericana, there is the option of a white with red stripes and a Black version. The interiors will be red cover in leather and plaid cloth, typical from that model; The instrument panel is identical as the original 300Sl.</p>
<p>Gullwing-America thinks that this is a true rebirth of the legendary 300SL Gullwing. Updated with technology from 50 years later, the car will be more powerful and handle better than the original. It will be a very drivable car with all the convenient accessories like air conditioning, power steering, etc. from modern cars.</p>

<p>Lamborghini Estoque is a study, a concept created specifically for the 2008 Salon d&#8217;Automobiles in Paris. From the very first glance there can be no doubt that this is a Lamborghini &#8211; a car with compelling presence, both unique and unmistakable. The long wheelbase, the low profile, the broad track, the mighty, accentuated wheels, the clean surfaces and razor-sharp definition &#8211; every single line breathes the spirit of the Lamborghini brand.</p>
<p><strong>A new and unique elegance</strong></p>
<p>The Lamborghini Estoque is an entirely new interpretation of the Sant&#8217; Agata design ethic: it is a concept that provides a clear indication of the future. This applies to the new, elegant self-confidence of the lines themselves, but even more to the concept of the vehicle. The Lamborghini Estoque is the first sedan in the history of Automobili Lamborghini, although &#8220;sedan&#8221; is more a reference to the number of doors than any other characteristics. Even sports sedan is an inadequate classification: the Lamborghini Estoque establishes a new category of super sports sedans. With a powerful front mid-engine, permanent all-wheel drive and a sophisticated, precision-tuned chassis, the Lamborghini Estoque boasts a unique technology package.</p>
<p><strong>A sign of success</strong></p>
<p>In Paris, the Lamborghini Estoque demonstrates the innovation, the creativity and the design flair of the Lamborghini brand, currently represented by the enormous success enjoyed by Lamborghini Gallardo and Murciélago super sports cars.</p>
<p>As a concept, the Lamborghini Estoque represents one of several possibilities for a third model series within the Lamborghini product line-up. At this point in time, no decisions have been taken in respect of either a third model series of any kind or of the Lamborghini Estoque concept in particular.</p>
<p>Of course, as a true Lamborghini, it goes without saying that the Lamborghini Estoque also bears a suitably powerful name with a rich heritage from the Spanish Corrida &#8211; bull fighting. The Lamborghini Estoque is a rapier (sword), approximately 90 centimetres (35.43 inches) long, used in a bull fight by the Matador.<br />

Lamborghini Estoque embodies the concept of a Lamborghini that is both a dedicated sports car and a relaxed Gran Turismo. As a sedan with four doors and four individual sports seats, it is a multi-faceted vehicle for multi-faceted lifestyles.</p>
<p><strong>Relaxed Gran Turismo</strong></p>
<p>The Lamborghini Estoque is the perfect travelling companion, be it en route to business meetings, the theatre, the golf course or even a weekend away with the kids. At the end of the day, it is the only car that allows you to share the singular driving pleasure of a Lamborghini with more than one person &#8211; possibly even with the whole family. And there is still enough room left over for weekend luggage or several golf bags.</p>
<p>Despite its extremely low profile &#8211; at a mere 1.35 meters (4.43 feet) high &#8211; the Lamborghini Estoque is surprisingly spacious. The secret lies in its very long wheelbase which, in spite of the rearwards positioning of the front mid-engine, enables a relaxed, sporty seating position. Entering and exiting is also pleasingly straightforward through the large, wide-opening doors.</p>

<p>At the same, the Lamborghini Estoque is a thoroughbred sports car with exceptionally refined power delivery, razor-sharp precision handling and a meaty engine tone. <p><strong>Design</strong></p>
<p>Such a Lamborghini must be immediately recognizable in its design as a unique and unmistakable work of art. For the Lamborghini Estoque, this is clearly a case of &#8220;mission accomplished.&#8221;</p>
<p>The proportions of the Lamborghini Estoque are simply fascinating: no other automobile combines so convincingly the elegance of length with the sporting attributes of a low profile and impressive breadth. Or to put it into figures &#8211; the concept painted in an all-new color, is 5.15 meters (16.89 feet) long and 1.99 meters (6.53 feet) wide, with a height of only 1.35 metres (4.43 feet). The wheelbase is a stately 3.01 meters (9.88 feet) &#8211; an equally important element of elegant vehicle architecture.</p>
<p>And it is unequivocally Italian &#8211; the flat bonnet, the long wheelbase, the narrow window openings, the flat rear that ends decisively with a negative return &#8211; it is all pure &#8220;Italianità&#8221; on wheels; everything bears the design language of the large classic Italian four-door cars, albeit with a unique, modern interpretation. Pure Lamborghini.</p>
<p><strong>Clearly a sports car</strong></p>
<p>The front end of the Lamborghini Estoque is a clear and unambiguous statement of its sports car credentials. Its place amongst the family of Lamborghini super sports cars is also distinct and unmistakable &#8211; with its swooping V-shape, its two large air intakes pulled forward and the small front spoiler in between. This front end design gives the Lamborghini Estoque a firm, low stance, while providing excellent aerodynamic efficiency. The large air intakes facilitate the cooling air that is important for such a high-performance vehicle and the spoiler was specifically designed to improve aerodynamic balance at high speeds.</p>
<p>Such distinctive sports car architecture is only possible by positioning the front mid-engine well towards the rear. Despite the very low bonnet, it goes without saying that the Lamborghini Estoque fulfils all safety regulations and pedestrian protection standards.</p>
<p><strong>Taut muscles</strong></p>
<p>The bonnet of the Lamborghini Estoque makes the origins of the sheer power of this vehicle immediately apparent. The location of the engine is clearly evident through the distinct division created by two large air outlets and the additional emphasis of a central power area. Further air outlets are positioned both left and right in the wings, behind each of the front wheel arches.</p>
<p>Together, with the division of the bonnet, these elements add emphasis to the area above the wheels, framing the front end of the Lamborghini Estoque like a taut muscle. The permanent all-wheel drive that is typical for all Lamborghinis means that the 22 inch wheels, with their new five double-spoke design, also do their part in delivering power to the road. Here too, the Centro Stile has stuck firmly to the Lamborghini principle that form always follows function; after all, the ample cooling air flowing into the high-performance driveline also has to move quickly out of the vehicle.</p>
<p><strong>Tremendous tension along the flanks</strong></p>
<p>Its proportions guarantee the Lamborghini Estoque an impressive appearance. The skilled sectioning along the flanks of the vehicle gives the body shell an incredibly muscular form. Beneath the flat surfaces of the bonnet, the incredibly powerful shoulder line, a further side line rising slightly towards the rear and, finally, the equally distinct sill line all add emphasis to the flow of power from the engine to the magnificent 23 inch rear wheels. The masculine profile is completed by the negative return of the rear end. This adds further tension to the form of the Lamborghini Estoque &#8211; the whole car looks coiled and ready to pounce at the drop of a hat. These sharp lines frame a fascinating interplay of surfaces across convex and concave curvatures. The Lamborghini Estoque clearly displays the design language of the Centro Stile Lamborghini with a distinctive elegance.</p>
<p><strong>Powerful elegance at the rear</strong></p>
<p>The flow of form is brought to its conclusion by the broad, even expanse of the rear end. The horizontal split created by the flat LED light clusters and the large, mesh-covered lower air outlets bring additional emphasis to this breadth. A narrow, slightly slanted &#8220;frame&#8221; panel surrounds the whole rear aspect and further highlights its powerful elegance.</p>
<p>Precise details, such as the hexagonal fuel caps on both sides of the vehicle, characterize the depth of the design language. The front headlamps, featuring bi-Xenon and LED technology, carry forward a theme evident in both the Lamborghini Reventón and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 &#8211; the Y-shape of the daytime running lights. The tiny green/white/red flag adorning the front wings discreetly highlights that an automotive statement as uncompromising as this one can come from only one country on Earth &#8211; from Italy.</p>
<p><strong>The interior</strong></p>
<p>Despite its extremely low profile, the Lamborghini Estoque offers a surprisingly generous feeling of spaciousness. The length of the interior facilitates a relaxed seating position for all four individual seats and plays a significant role in the supreme comfort of this super sports sedan over long distances. The interior reflects elements of the exterior design language, also evident in the cabin of the Lamborghini Estoque &#8211; in the distinctive lines of the door panels or in the swooping V-shape applied to the cockpit, reflecting the form used on the front end and on the bonnet.</p>
<p><strong>Luxurious interior</strong></p>
<p>The dominant material of the interior is highest-quality Nappa leather. The four individual seats boast sporting contours, supreme long-distance comfort and extensive electrical positioning options.</p>
<p><strong>Cockpit with large-screen display</strong></p>
<p>The cockpit presents the driver with a large-area LCD screen displaying vehicle and route information. A range of presentation formats are available for selection depending on personal preference &#8211; a distinctive classical layout with circular instrument dials, or an innovative digital display. <p>Like the interior, the luggage compartment of the Lamborghini Estoque is also surprisingly spacious. Despite the low-profile rear end, it has plenty room for several golf bags or pieces of luggage.<br />

Production feasibility</strong></p>
<p>As a pure concept car, the Lamborghini Estoque is a design exercise and a further indication of the innovative power of the Lamborghini brand. Yet, it is based on a feasible technical concept that offers a whole range of fascinating alternatives for the body shell and driveline.</p>
<p>Just like the brand&#8217;s super sports cars, the Lamborghini Estoque uses a mid-engine layout. However, the high-performance driveline used here is not located in front of the rear axle, as in the Gallardo and Murciélago or in the Reventón, but behind the front axle. This front mid-engine concept, with the driveline set way back, facilitates balanced weight distribution and a centre of gravity close to the vehicle&#8217;s vertical axis. Both ensure the unparalleled agility and handling precision of a mid-engine vehicle.<br />
<strong><br />
Reserves in every situation<br />
</strong><br />
Like all contemporary Lamborghini models, the Lamborghini Estoque is also equipped with permanent all-wheel drive. It distributes the engine power to all four wheels, thus making for superior traction in all driving situations, as well as providing extra reserves for extremely sporty driving and for challenging weather conditions.</p>
<p>A range of drivelines is conceivable for the Lamborghini Estoque. This is headed up by the highly-acclaimed Lamborghini ten-cylinder from the Gallardo LP 560-4 &#8211; with more torque and higher revving than virtually any other engine. A complementary alternative could be a turbocharged eight-cylinder derived from this V10. A particularly economical, but nevertheless dynamic, variation would be a V8 with a hybrid module or an extremely high-performance TDI.</p>
<p><strong>The Centro Stile Lamborghini<br />
</strong><br />
With the Estoque, the Centro Stile Lamborghini has created further proof of its creativity and attention to detail. The design centre that opened in 2004 is a studio of creatives, designers and model makers that combines the culture and the spirit of the brand with the power of innovation and of creating a new aesthetic. The Centro Stile Lamborghini is part of the best tradition of Italian vehicle design, and is leading the way forward with the latest in working techniques.</p>
<p>The Centro Stile is located in a 2,900 sq. meter (31,215 sq. feet) facility, where it occupies two interconnected floors. The generously proportioned design studio is equipped with two full-size surface tables and their associated tooling and measuring equipment, while further areas house the latest in computer workstations for the creative experts and a workshop for the model makers. The Centro Stile is also connected directly to the neighbouring Ufficio Tecnico &#8211; the direct link to Lamborghini&#8217;s development department ensures the rapid realization of ideas. Speed is a key aspect for Lamborghini, for both its cars and its working processes; the Reventón was created in the record time of less than one year.</p>
<p><strong>In-house creativity and implementation<br />
</strong><br />
From the first sketches made either on paper or using the three-dimensional computer program, through 1:10 or 1:4 scale models to full-size models, the complete design process is organized within small, fast-moving teams.</p>
<p>Since it was founded, the Lamborghini brand has been bringing innovative design trends to the rarefied atmosphere of the world&#8217;s most desirable automobiles, and producing vehicles with absolutely unmistakable character. Models such as the Miura and the Countach were way ahead of their time, but quickly attained the status of timeless classics. From their first appearance, every new Lamborghini is destined to become a legend and sought-after collectors&#8217; item.</p>
<p>With the current Murciélago and Gallardo, Lamborghini has once again perfected an innovative design language. The exterior proportions provide an indication of the power and dynamic character of the driveline. Crisply-defined edges, precision lines and clean surfaces result in a design that is reduced to its very essence.</p>
<p>Every element is designed precisely in accordance with its function. Examples of this on the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 include the movable cooling air intakes and the asymmetric sills; on the left side of the vehicle, the air intake is significantly larger to accommodate the flow of fresh air to the oil cooler.</p>
<p><strong>Clear lines, perfect details<br />
</strong><br />
The unmistakable form of a Lamborghini is something that always speaks for itself: ornamentation or decoration of any kind has absolutely no place here. This firmly places the current models that bear the sign of the bull within the best traditions of their brand and of 60s and 70s Italian vehicle design. The sports cars of that time were acclaimed for their perfect proportions and for their objective, functional elegance that required no embellishment of any kind.</p>
<p>The purist execution of the lines is complemented perfectly by the passion for detail possessed by the designers in Sant&#8217; Agata Bolognese. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>For years there has been speculation that <a href="http://www.ferrariusa.com/">Ferrari </a>is working on a &#8220;entry level&#8221; model that could even be a long awaited successor of the famous Ferrari Dino. This new Ferrari F250 Concept could in fact be that highly anticipated entry level model. The concept is designed by Idries Omar, who says the concept is a mid-engine supercar that will feature a 2.5L V6 that will run on eco-friendly Bio Fuel, similar to the recently introduced F430 Bio Fuel that was showcased at the Detroit Auto Show.</p>

Luckily for us yet another awesome car from <a href="http://www.fiskerautomotive.com/">Fisker</a> was shown at <a href="http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&amp;ct=res&amp;cd=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.naias.com%2F&amp;ei=nsCPR6-OD576pgTbwd2LDg&amp;usg=AFQjCNFCGumcu8LA2aGYez59hYVZnle6Pg&amp;sig2=HmAxBRphHW5VZhsYlEA6WA">NAIAS</a>. Available late 2009 the <a href="http://www.fiskerautomotive.com/vehicles/features/">Fisker Karma</a> ($80,000) is powered by Q-Drive which utilizes a 4-cylinder engine that powers a generator, resulting in a premium hybrid sports sedan that can run from zero to sixty in 5.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 125 mph.</p>
<p>The car has 2 driving modes. The first &#8220;Stealth Mode&#8221; is a pure electric mode which should allow the Karma to run off the lithium ion battery pack for 50 miles before the engine kicks in. The second, a sports mode, uses the four-banger at peak performance and, according to Fisker, makes the Karma sound like a combination of a jet fighter and an F1 car. Also the batteries compartments are located in the middle of the car, which lowers the center of gravity, giving it nearly perfect balance. Of course this sedan is goign to feature the latest in-car luxuries like navigation system and DVD player with headrest-mounted displays. My favorite part of the car is the self-contained climate control, it is a full-length solar roof to help charge the car and provide cooling for the interior cabin while the car is parked. <span id="more-1677"></span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit just wrapped up. This car is one of my favorites from the event. The Audi R8 V12 TDI concept sports a 6.0L V-12 diesel, with 500-hp, with 738 lb-ft of torque. It can go 62mph in 4.2 seconds and maxes out at 186mph, the R8 concept also manages to get 23 MPG. For those of you in Europe the combination of a 29,000-psi direct-inject fuel injection system, particulate filters and urea injection allows this monster to pass 2014 EuroVI emissions standards. <span id="more-1607"></span></p>

On display this year was the 2008 <a href="http://www.lexus.com/">Lexus </a>LF-A Roadster Concept.  The LF-A Roadster is based on the highly anticipated LF-A coupe and features a lightweight carbon-fibre and aluminum body as well a a high-revving V10 engine that is nearly 5.0 liters in displacement and puts out more that 500hp. Unfortunately is still a concept but hopefully lexus will turn this roadster into a reality as soon as possible</p>

<blockquote><p><em>Detroit, USA &#8211; The engineers and designers at Lexus continue to use their groundbreaking LF-A premium sports car concept as a medium for expressing their ideas about what a high-performance sporting vehicle not only can be, but should be. In this latest expression of the LF-A, they have removed the car&#8217;s top to create a high-performance roadster. </em></p>
<p><em>The LF-A Roadster is based on the sturdy yet lightweight carbon-fibre and aluminium body used for the LF-A coupe, which helps maintain the structure&#8217;s strength and rigidity even without a top.</em></p>
<p><em>Like its coupe counterpart, the LF-A Roadster is powered by a high-revving V10 engine that approaches 5.0 litres in displacement. The V10, capable of more than 500 horsepower and test-track speeds greater than 200 mph, is mounted in front of the passenger compartment but behind the front-axle centreline in what the LF-A&#8217;s engineers refer to as a &#8220;front-mid&#8221; configuration.</em></p>
<p><em>The engine is connected via a torque tube and propeller shaft to a transaxle that is controlled by paddle shifters. The torque tube is a structural member that adds rigidity to the drivetrain and chassis while also reducing vibration.</em></p>
<p><em>Styling is rooted in the Lexus L-Finesse design philosophy, conferring the LF-A Roadster&#8217;s front end with a compact, low-profile, aerodynamic shape. Like its coupe counterpart, the LF-A Roadster stands just 48 inches tall, but the Roadster configuration adds a speed adaptive rear wing.</em></p>
<p><em>The rear is marked by a pair of wrap-around, arrowhead-shaped taillights that bracket a pair of large grilles. These grilles vent the heated air from the car&#8217;s two rear-mounted radiators into the LF-A Roadster&#8217;s aerodynamic wake. The radiators are fed cool air by two large intake ducts mounted just above the rear wheel wells. This aft radiator positioning not only allowed the designers to keep the car&#8217;s front profile low and tight but also aided the LF-A&#8217;s chassis engineers in their search for optimal weight distribution.</em></p>
<p><em>Helping to provide balance and scale to the design, which features an overall length of 175.6 inches and a wheelbase of 102.6 inches, are high-performance tyres on turbine-styled alloy wheels. The front tyres are 265/35R20s, while the rears are 305/30R20s. Like the LF-A coupe, the brakes consist of 14.2-inch cross-drilled, vented discs up front, and 13.6-inch cross-drilled, vented discs at the rear. The front brake callipers are six-piston units and the rear callipers use four pistons each.</em></p>

The Maybach 62 Landaulet is based on the 62 S sedan and features the same 612hp biturbo V12 as well as all the other popular features such as the reclining back seats. The convertible itself will feature a soft top and an electronically-dimmed piece of glass that separates the driver and passengers (similar to that conventional limousine). Unfortunately this still only a concept but I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised if we saw this as a production model in the near future</p>

<strong>Large folding roof for passengers in the rear</strong><br />
In technical terms the Landaulet study is based on the Maybach 62 S – which can claim to be the world&#8217;s most powerful series-produced chauffeured saloon. Maybach technicians have removed the rear roof module in order to afford passengers an unobstructed view of the sky above. The side walls remain, and have merely been invisibly reinforced with an integral tubular steel structure. As these measures have not altered the silhouette of the luxury saloon, the generously dimensioned doors and the complete interior with its reclining seats remain unchanged.When closed the black soft-top of the Landaulet rests on the frame formed by the roof bows, and is wind and weather-proof. When requested by the passengers, the chauffeur operates a switch in the centre console. The roof then opens electro-hydraulically and is gently deposited on the parcel shelf in the rear, together with its integral rear window of single-layer safety glass. Opening and closing the roof takes 16 seconds. The chauffeur is able to enclose the folded roof with a fitted leather cover, which both conceals the roof mechanism from view and completes the overall picture of outstanding elegance.<br />
<strong>White paintwork and wheels</strong><br />
This impression is accentuated by the shining white paintwork of the study, an exclusive finish named antigua white. Visual highlights are provided by 20-inch wheels specially designed for the Landaulet study. These are also painted in white with high-sheen spokes, and are accompanied by white indicators in the front and rear light clusters in dark red.<br />
<strong>Black for the chauffeur, white for the passengers</strong><br />
In addition, the already luxurious driver&#8217;s compartment of the successful Maybach 62 S has been enhanced in a number of important respects. All the interior trim is now surfaced in black piano lacquer, and for the extensive leather appointments Maybach has used particularly exclusive, glossy stromboli black leather. In contrast Maybach has fitted the passenger compartment almost completely in exquisite seychelleswhite leather. The footwell and roof liner of this high-end luxury landaulet are also in white – the floor is carpeted in white velour and the roof lined with white fabric. A dramatic contrast is provided by inserts and decorative trim in glossy, black piano lacquer or exclusive black granite with numerous gold inclusions.<br />
<strong>Generous spaciousness and first-class comfort</strong><br />
Outstanding comfort is assured by the generous spaciousness of the rear, which the Landaulet study has adopted unchanged from the Maybach 62. Passengers are welcomed into the interior by two large, single seats. These elegant seats also allow even very tall passengers to enjoy a reclining position which travellers normally only encounter in the first-class armchairs of modern passenger jets.The study is designed as a chauffeured vehicle and features a partition. The upper section of the partition is a glass panel which the passengers can render opaque at the touch of a button, thanks to a liquid crystal membrane embedded in the glass.Two ultra-modern automatic climate control systems, whose parameters have been adapted to the Landaulet study, ensure that open-air travel remains a pleasure even under adverse climatic conditions.<br />
<strong>State-of-the-art entertainment and communications</strong><br />
As in the Maybach 62 S, the rear console is the centrepiece for entertainment, communications and travelling pleasure. This is where Maybach engineers have grouped everything relating to the entertainment and pleasure of the rear-seat passengers: a DVD-player, six CD-changer, a cooler compartment with its own electric compressor and an intelligent system which holds glasses, goblets and champagne bottles safely in position.<br />
<strong>Engine and suspension</strong><br />
The Maybach Landaulet study is powered by the uprated V12 engine which Maybach engineers have developed further for the Maybach 57 S and Maybach 62 S together with the specialists at Mercedes-AMG. Thanks to twin turbochargers and water intercooling, the V12 develops a maximum output of 450 kW/612 hp from a displacement of 5980 cubic centimetres. This is continuously available between 4800 and 5100 rpm, and the engine also delivers an impressive maximum torque of 1000 newton metres between 2000 and 4000 rpm. The electronically controlled air suspension AIRMATIC DC (Dual Control) and the Adaptive Damping System (ADS II) endow the Landaulet with outstanding levels of ride comfort, at the same time demonstrating that even a prestigious vehicle such as this can exhibit extraordinary agility and dynamic performance. In addition to large, internally ventilated brake discs – with twin callipers at the front – both the study and the Maybach 62 S are equipped with two electro-hydraulic Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC™) braking systems working in tandem. Together with ESP®, ASR, ABS and Brake Assist, this provides the Landaulet study with the very latest in effective, high-tech handling control systems.<br />
<strong>Innovative technology from the sister-brand Mercedes-Benz</strong><br />
Like all Maybach saloons, the Landaulet also benefits from the unrivalled experience of the sister-brand Mercedes-Benz in the development and production of high-quality cars in the luxury segment. Important innovations from Mercedes-Benz, successfully developed further for the Maybach saloons, are standard equipment in every Maybach and are of course also on board the Landaulet study – examples include the electronically controlled air suspension AIRMATIC DC (Dual Control), LINGUATRONIC voice control and the control and display system COMAND APS.</p>

The GTI is by far the most extreme example of cuztomization in a volkswagen I have ever seen. The 650 has a 6.0L biturbo W12 mounted behind the front seats and puts out an oustanding 650hp and over 530ft lbs of torque. All that power is mounted to a 6-speed automatic DSG tranmission and some extra large tires. This powerful GTI has a claimed top speed of 325 km/h (201mph)  and a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) of 3.7 seconds. In addition to the engine the entire car has been fitted with tons of carbon fibre in an effort to reduce the cars overall weight. <p>Leave conventions behind and let ypur passion awake &#8211; since the beginning these were the roots of the GTI idea. Until today they got more than 1.67 million drivers into their spell. Long has the Golf GTI been an icon. A mark for itself.</p>
<p>Since 1982 Golf GTI celebrate it annually in the Austrian Land at the Wörthersee. Thousands come.Volkswagen placed a Golf before them: the Golf GTI W12-650 showcar. This sports car is a inclination before the GTI friends at the Wörthersee, people for whom the GTI is a myth.<br />
Stronger, broader, faster<br />
A Golf was never stronger, broader or faster. It seems that the Golf GTI W12-650 comes directly from the racing course. A Golf that runs like the Pace Car of the 24 hours of Le Mans. Its name means: W12-Zylinder, 650 HP (477 KW with 6.000 rpm). A Showcar, not more, not less. Nevertheless it shows what enormous potential the Golf has to offer.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">3.7 seconds, 325 km/h, 750 Newtonmeters</span><br />
Its 6,0 Liter Biturbo engine is longitudinal and placed directly behind the driver and the front seat passenger. The Golf GTI W12-650 differentiate itself in this way from the classical central engine car. A 6-speed automatic transmission transfers 750 Newtonmeters (at 4.500 rpm) to the rear axle. It catapults the Golf GTI W12-650 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. With a maximum speed of 325 km/h the Golf GTI W12-650 leaves behind nearly all of the world&#8217;s supercars.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Width 1.88 m, 235er tire in front, 295er tire in the back</span><br />
Automotive engineers and designers united under Volkswagen Golf GTI W12 650<br />
its 1.88 meters (series: 1.76 meters) spread and 1.42 meters (series: 1.50 meters) flatten body. The chassis components of the Golf GTI W12-650 were adapted directly from supersports cars. The wheels are of course made from a light alloy and because of the gigantic wheel dimensions a specialy engineered tire had to be made.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">70 millimeters lower, 160 millimeters broader</span><br />
The goal was clearly defined &#8211; despite the partially dramatic technical changes the study should<br />
remain completely clear that this is a Golf GTI. Therefore as much parts as possible were taken from tha classical GTI like: the headlights, the doors, the front hood and the tail lamps. The axles were pushed 70 millimeters into the body.</p>
<p>The largest problem was to supply the 6-litre central engine with sufficient air and to produce sufficient drift at the rear axle without watering the silhouette of the Golf GTI W12-650. Therefore the C-columns were re-designed in such a way that they lead air to the engine. The rear side windows run inward, so that two channels develop between the disks and the C-columns on the left and on the right to drive air to the engine.<br />
The Carbon fiber roof is a diffuser<br />
Innovative building of the body also prevented that the lines of the Golf GTI W12-650 to get ruined by a putting on a roof wing. The study carries the wing inward. The roof is part of an enormous diffuser, which provides sufficient drift to the rear axle. It&#8217;s made from carbon fiber and leads air under the normal tail spoiler.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Interior with racing ambitions</span><br />
The leather is Alcantara. On the middle range of the armatures are Three rows of auxiliary instruments. Transparent &#8220;Flip UP&#8221; switch guards for central functions like the disconnectible ESP look like taken derectly from the race track.</p>
<p>Fire extinguishers are integrated in the place of the glove compartment to also remind us of the race. Because of weight reasons &#8220;stripped&#8221; the door linings are complete; only lattices are used, which grant a complete view of the interior mechanics of the door.</p></blockquote>

The GT makes use of Altairnano batteries to power the car which allows for an astonishing 700 hp. Three models of the GT will be offered including a luxury version, a lightweight sports version and an extended range version. The sport model allows the GT to reach 60 mph in less than four seconds while the extended range model can accommodate road trips up to 250 miles. <p>Well it looks like a Ferrari, and its going to be powered by a Ferrari engine but sadly this beautiful concept won&#8217;t be built be Ferrari but instead by VandenBrink Designs. This new design will feature a Ferrari Enzo power plant and the famous &#8220;GTO&#8221; markings as tribute to the early-sixties Ferrari 250 GTO. This beauty comes in either handcrafted aluminum or carbon fiber but with only a planned production run of five total cars and three of those already spoken for it might be to late to own this gorgeous tribute to classic Ferrari design.</p>
