Today Alienware’s new High-Def HTPC was released, the Hanger18. This new offering from Alienware allows for dual TV tuners (up to 4 can be configured), onboard 5.1 amp, HDMI out, space for 4GB of memory, and 2TB of storage space all powered by an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core CPU. The Hanger18 comes in two variations, a 720p or 1080p capable system and includes a gyration remote to replace the old wireless mouse. This year at Computex 2007 (one of the largest computer hardware trade shows on the planet) several companies are displaying some radical new designs for basic computer components. One of thoee new designs is ThermalRight’s new heatsink chassis. This new computer case is actually one giant heatsink built to help dissipate heat from the processor, perfect for a fan less HTPC application. the concept is very simple, inside, there’s a base plate that allows for contact with your processor, the base plate is then connected directly to the main body of the case, which allows for a completely unique and effective cooling solution.

Here at IwishIHadThis.com we strive to bring you the latest and greatest products in both the consumer and professional field. Now as we have grown larger we have created a new section dedicated reviewing some of those products that are available to consumers. Next month Sony will be releasing a firmware update for the PlayStation 3, included in that update will be DLNA video streaming support. Which pretty much means PS3 owners will be able to play video content from their Windows Media Center, or any other DLNA compatible device. Which is why I am adding this Buffalo TeraStation Living HOME to my wish list. It has 3TB (3,072GB) of data storage and DLNA compatibility. So basically you can store thousands of movies on this device and watch them from your PlayStation 3.

Dragon Speakers

Made in Sweden, these speakers follow the new trend of having speakers not look like speakers with this classical sculpture. They currently come in white, red, or black, and are made from plastic. Other colors can be special ordered. This $150 speaker has a 1″ peerless tweeter, and a 4″ peerless/vifa midrange magnesium chassis, NRSC cone, and NR rubber surround. It will max out at 140 watt and its sensitivity is (8ohm) 85dB.

Sony impresses us again at the Display 2007 expo in Japan. They debuted new OLED monitors and are thinner, brighter and consume less power than traditional LCD. The display pictured above is an astonishing 9mm thick and sports 1080p resolution with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
