Entire Wikipeda Offline for iPhone and iPod Touch
February 7, 2008
The iPhone and iPod Touch are both fairly impressive devices now with their new bumps up in capacity but now thanks to Patrick Collison theres an even better reason to invest in one. Patrick has created an offline Wikipedia App that allows you to store the entire contents of Wikipedia on you iPhone or iPod Touch. Since the app stores the entire contents of Wikipedia on your phone it never requires any internet access. (bypassing the iPhones slow EDGE network) The app itself takes a a full 2.2gb but since Apple upped the capacity of both the iPhone and iPod Touch it shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Since this is not a official Microsoft press release everything is speculation but looking at the screeshots provided they look pretty legit

Sometimes a concept comes along and its such a fantastic idea you wonder “why the hell didn’t I think of this??” Introducing the Napkin PC Concept by designer Avery Holleman. The Napkin PC is designed to be used in a business environment to help groups collaborate on various designs or documents simultaneously. Data is sent to the multi-touch e-paper via the pen by RF and has the ability to communicate to all the various tablets.
