The Gamerator

February 15, 2008

For those looking for the ultimate addition to a game room look no further, The Gamerator is almost here. The Gamerator is easily the ultimate gaming machine as it combines gaming with the fun of drinking. The Gamerator is Windows XP based and uses a 26-inch HDTV that lets you play more than 150 licensed classic arcade games. However the best part is the fact that it features an integrated refrigerator that can hold a “pony” keg and keep it chilled down to 38 degrees. The beer is dispensed through a tap in the front next to the gaming controls. Unfortunately the Gamerator is not currently available yet but it will retail for $3,995

Depaz Blue Cane Rhum

February 13, 2008

Finding a unique spirit is hard to find these days but the Depaz Blue Cane Rhum is clearly something special. Depaz Blue Cane Rhum is harvested in the French West Indies at the Depaz family estate using some of the finest ingredients available. What sets Depaz Rhum apart form others is that Depaz makes their rum using exclusively 100% blue cane, which has an exceptionally high sugar content giving the spirit its signature flavor.  That signature flavor has even landed Depaz a spot on the Wine Enthusiast‘s top 50 spirits of 2007. Depaz Blue Cane Rhum is made in limited quantities but can be normally be found for around $40

Carlo Rossi has been making wine for quite some time but now it seems they have started something new by taking recycling to a all new level. Showcased on Carlo Rossi’s website are some interesting new concepts such as a lamp, bookshelf, couch, chandelier, and even a surround sound system all constructed out of various sizes of Carlo Rossi wine jugs. By far the most interesting design is the 5.1 Sangria sound system using several 4-5liter wine jugs and holes drilled into the sides to allow music to resonate perfectly.

MuchoTE Tequila

February 7, 2008

The latest hand-made tequila to hit US, MuchoTE had its debut January 29th in Colorado and is making its way across the nation. Each blue Tequilana Weber Agave that goes into making MuchoTE Tequila is hand selected for its sugar content (not weight). After the agave is selected and harvested they steam the piñas in adobe ovens for 3 days. MuchoTE Tequila is then aged in small charred American bourbon oak casks for 7 months which gives the tequila a full flavor and golden color. It is going to take a while for MuchoTE to propagate throughout the United States so I recommend that you pre-order your bottle online. More about MuchoTE.

Carlsberg Vintage No. 1

January 31, 2008

Scandinavia’s largest brewery has announced it will be selling the worlds most expensive beer. The Carlsberg Brewery in Denmark introduced Vintage No. 1 which will sell for 2,008 Danish kroner (almost $400) per bottle. The price is based on the year introduced (next years batch will cost 2009 Danish kroner), Carlsberg Brewery claims the beer is cheap considering how long it took them to develop the brew. The beer contains hints of prune, caramel, vanilla and oak tree from the French and Swedish wooden casks in which it is stored. They only produced 600 bottles of the 10.5 percent proof beer each only 0.8 pint. Currently the beer is only available at select Danish restaurants, and a limited quantity will be available for purchase on their website. [Bloomberg/via]
