Swamp Furniture
August 28, 2007

Ever heard of color changing furniture? Didn’t think so. Erin Hayne and Nuno Gonaçlves Ferreira of Visual Reference Studio just finished their first line of thermochromatic furniture. This collection includes stools and benches that change color when touched. This furniture is made possible by color changing crystals that respond to heat, so when sat on or touched by a body part an imprint will be left until the piece cools down. There is a choice of black furniture that turns blue, or red that turns violet; but the temperature varieties also lets you get different shades of the color. This collection was created with the thought of the flora and fauna of the Mississippi cypress swamp, where their studio is located.
