Space Tourism Industry

Well it finally happened, the world is just starting to see the introduction of the space tourism industry. Now there are two company’s that have started to show their strong dedication to the future of space tourism, Virgin Galactic and EADS. Virgin Galactic is just getting started but in my opinion the new the heavyweight in this new industry is going to be the EADS (European Space Agency). The EADS will hopefully start offering trips in 2012 on their new rocket/plane designed craft. The vehicle will use normal jet engines to initially take off form a conventional airport, once at 12km above the earth’s surface a rocket engine will push the craft straight up for eighty seconds, resulting in the ability to carry passengers above 100km above the surface. The entire flight will only allow a three to five minutes of weightlessness but will give the passenger an amazing view during the entire ride. The entire experience is expected to cost 200,00 euros which compared to current prices for space flight is an incredible bargain. Hopefully with more competition this industry will grow even larger and drive cost down enough to allow the common person to afford a trip into space.
