While remotes controls are hardly the most interesting products in your home this new universal remote is very unique and has an extremely innovative form. The remote itself follows a clamshell design similar to cell phones and has even been been nominated as one of the 2007 Innovations Honoree in the Video Accessories category for the 2007 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards earlier this year. The new universal remote is made by Jasco and is designed to be a space saver as it is able to fold into half, giving it a much smaller profile than most other universal remotes. This new remote control is not packed with technology (such as a LCD screen) but does however perform all the basic functions of any universal remote such as controlling several devices with only a single remote, as well adding in a few more interesting features. One of these features is a curved shape allowing for a comfortable feel in your hand as well as a sleep timer and a navigation wheel to quickly control volume, channels and menus.
