Have a vintage American muscle car in sweet (and running) condition? Not only are you one lucky bastard, but you are also eligible to participate in Muscle Car 1000 - the only event of its kind. This October, the third annual Muscle Car 1000 will bring together 30 automotive aficionados as they share six days of once-in-a-lifetime performance driving and luxury living experiences.
This year’s event, which runs October 7 through 11, will take participants from San Diego to Beverly Hills, in a roundabout way that will cover 1000 miles (hence the name). Highlights include:
- Exhibition drag racing aboard an aircraft carrier (never-before done)
- Putting muscle cars to the test on the track (California Speedway)
- Dining at Spago and famous winemakers
- A closing gala at the Playboy Mansion (think they’ll serve hasenpfeffer?)
The price: $5,950 covers each participant + 1 guest. (Gas is extra.) But this year’s Muscle Car 1000 has been sold out since January. So if you want to get in for 2008, check out their website NOW. More information and pictures.

Soon to be released: the GP2X-F200, the next version of the GP2X, now featuring a touch screen. Still with the same old 2 processors ( ARM920T, main processor, and ARM940T, video coprocessor). Can hold up to 32 Gb with the new SDHC technology. With linux, being completely open source, and GPL’ed it gives you the freedom to make, download, and port all sorts of games, emulators, and utilities. Yes, thats right, free games and emulators. You can also put a wifi dongle (supported by linux) on there and put in some linux driver, and you’ve got a mobile work station. Well, almost, you might need a usb keyboard, yes you can put a keyboard on it. Anyways, enough talking, heres the specs.
