New Palm Foleo

foleo_back_halfopen_r_jpg.jpg
Today Palm introduced the Foleo ($499 after $100 rebate) new calling style of computing called a “Smartphone companion product,” It has a 10-inch screen, full-size keyboard and built-in wi-fi, and bluetooh connectivity, however it does lack any sort or cellular antenna such as EVDO. This puts the Foleo into a very interesting position between the UMPC and compact laptop markets. Foleo runs on an open Linux-based platform and is has a business style platform of software such as editors for Word, Excel and PowerPoint, plus a PDF viewer but also includes a Opera browser and an email app. However the real surprise is the lack support for the new device, a great deal of people can’t identify what the target is for this product. The Foleo is clearly a laptop designed to take form meeting to meeting to take notes and connect to the office’s wireless network. In addition to the office this type of product would be ideal for students everywhere. This light weight laptop can easily be moved from class to class with ease due to its light weight and its five hour battery life ensures that it will last for a long time. This is an interesting new product form Palm and i hope to see more styles of the Foleo in the future. Read the rest of this entry.

Lexus LF-A at the 2007 North American International Auto Show

The Lexus LF-A is powered by a V10, 500hp front mid-range engine. With a rear mounted trans-axle and rear mounted radiators, this car is perfectly balanced and can easily do 200mph. There is no word yet on cost or production but;

“The first LF-A was a pure concept, but one that we went so far as to conduct engineering analysis on. This latest concept is much closer to a vehicle that we would bring to market, and one in which we will be gauging consumer interest.” Said Bob Carter, Lexus Division group vice president and general manager.

A319 Jet Designed by Versace

Versace and TAG Aircraft Interiors have teamed up to create a private Airbus319 jet. The plane has 16 seats, a salon, a galley, an office, and a stateroom with ensuite bathroom. Versace is responsible for all aspects of content, deign and style. While TAG handles the marketing, logistical, and technical aspects of this project. It may not be as large as the BMW designed 787, but it should have more than enough style.

AquaSkipper Lets You Bounce Across the Water

The light (25 lbs) AquaSkipper (Buy Now $500) allows you to bounce across the water. It has a wing that when you bounce on it, you move across the water in a bouncing motion - you can hop and skip across the water “like some sort of giant waterbug.” This human powered water transportation vehicle will make (and already has made) the surfers jealous - you do not have to pedal back to get on the next wave.

3TB TeraStation Living HOME

Next month Sony will be releasing a firmware update for the PlayStation 3, included in that update will be DLNA video streaming support. Which pretty much means PS3 owners will be able to play video content from their Windows Media Center, or any other DLNA compatible device. Which is why I am adding this Buffalo TeraStation Living HOME to my wish list. It has 3TB (3,072GB) of data storage and DLNA compatibility. So basically you can store thousands of movies on this device and watch them from your PlayStation 3.

Optimus Maximus keyboard

The Optimus Maximus keyboard (pre-order $1,565) is almost the most expensive keyboard. Every key on this keyboard has a small OLED screen (48px x 48px), which can be customized to indicate various shortcuts for different programs or games. This keyboard is very useful, but I doubt any one can justify paying that much for a keyboard.
